How to Find Wholesale Stained Glass Supplies

Find wholesale stained glass & make money with your hobby!

There are a couple reasons to find wholesale stained glass. The main reason is that you want to make stained glass to resell to the public.

In order to be competitive, you'll need to buy at a discount so you can make money on the retail end.

Or perhaps you want to sell tools, supplies, and other stained glass products to the public because you know there is a market out there for stained glass enthusiasts who would love discounts.

The other reason is that you are tired of paying high end retail for tools, supplies, etc. and want to save some cash.

Buying wholesale for personal purposes is done all the time, but be careful. You could get into some trouble because the reason you buy wholesale stained glass is to resell, not for your own personal use (at least 100% of each purchase).

For example, if you do buy at wholesale prices without paying a tax (this applies to most of the United States), you'll have to collect sales tax if you sell it or pay a use tax.

So, I have entered this phase of my stained glass business or hobby and want to buy wholesale stained glass to either sell the products themselves or sell my artwork or both.

How do I go about purchasing from manufacturers and wholesalers?

This is something we know very well. We have been selling online & eBay resellers for a long time and the one challenging aspect was finding good wholesale companies to buy cheaply enough to make a profit on the resale.

We did a numerous amount of research only to come up short many times - at least from an eBay standpoint because items usually go for 50% discounts and more on there.

Good News: Finding wholesalers however to sell to end retail buyers is not that hard!!!

Best Arts and Crafts Supplies

First, depending on your state or country, you may need some sort of resellers license. This shows that you are a legitimate business (no you don't have to incorporate).

Wholesalers will almost always want to see something saying you are able to buy from them - they don't sell to the general public.

If a company does not ask for it, I would be skeptical.

Next, you need to find good companies to buy from. This can be done a number of ways. Just doing a Google search doesn't always work. Legit wholesale companies aren't always Internet marketing wizards, so you may not find them at the top of the search engines.

Below is a list of our favorite ways to find wholesale stained glass companies to work with.

We recently found one that gave us a list of over 100 pages filled with all the products anyone would ever need to make glass art.

  • Google search using creative keywords - i.e. "stained glass +wholesale login"

  • Thomas Register

  • Worldwide Brands

  • Call the Manufacturers from products you already use or know

  • Ask your local hobby shop where they get their products

  • D&L Stained Glass - This is one of the suppliers we buy from

  • Delphi Glass - We highly recommend them for supplies and tools

  • Other countries such as China - this can be a tricky endeavor, so do your homework

  • By being a little detective oriented!

You must be creative to find the good wholesale stained glass companies. Other ways are to buy from liquidation suppliers, closeouts, keep an eye out for deals at your local shops, and more.

However, if you want to make money selling your craft, then this is something you'll want to consider. It is one of the best ways to make money with stained glass!

There's no huge secrets to doing this. It just takes some creativity, then contacting potential suppliers.
