Whats the white stuff when I solder

by Janice
(USA)

Q: Some of my projects get a white look around some of the soldering.

I clean the flux off with brush, hot water and Dawn dish soap. Why to I get this whiteish stuff?

A: This is a great question - about a white substance around your solder.

It sounds like you have cleaned the remaining flux from the glass but did you use car wax to polish the solder and the glass?

This protects your design and gives it a real nice shine.

About every 6 months it is good to take your designs and re-clean them - then reapply the car wax.

It should bring your design back to when you first made it and also protect and give it that glow of a new design.
