What kind of space do I need for stained glass?

by David
(Norman, OK)

If I'm wanting to learn to do the more basic pieces of stained glass, what kind of space would I need?

More specifically, I'm looking to set up a particular part of my house as a stained glass space and am wondering if that will be enough room.

I'm looking at a roughly 4x3 desk as my space at the moment. Will this do?

Our Space Answer

The size of the table is pretty much up to you. My table is about 6' long and 36" in depth.

I like to have one area for cutting and another full spot to put the pattern together with a square.

If you do smaller pieces the amount of space can be smaller. Just make sure you make room for all your supplies so the work bench area is free of anything.

I also have my grinder on a separate table so to give me more space.

I would like to see your work area- so we can compare what others use as their work space.
Be sure to make sure you good light and good ventilation
