Taping the pieces down on pattern

by Michele
(Pewaukee, WI)

Q: I took stained glass classes a few years ago but can't remember something very important!

I know we taped the pieces down after they all had the copper tape on them. We taped them over the pattern (I think) but now I'm at that stage and can't figure out how we taped the pieces down without taping the pattern down underneath!

Does that matter? I guess I could always pull the pattern out later, once the pieces were soldered together on that side. Any wisdom for me?

Plastic

If you want to protect your pattern or cartoon you can put a plastic sheet or some clear sticky shelf vinyl on your cartoon.
