Stained Glass How To Pics & Descriptions

Below are some great pictures on stained glass how to from a wedding gift that Randy just completed.

He had very little time to finish this piece of glass art and I think it turned out wonderful.

Randy will take you through and describe each tidbit so you can see how it was done instead of just hearing about each step...

The first photo shows Randy lining up the glass for stained glass to break it and measure it to the pattern. Note the drawing of the pattern before installing the glass.

The first shot is of Randy taking and measuring a large enough piece of glass to score and break.

tape the glass

The next two shots indicate measuring and marking so you can break and cut accurately. Using a marker on light glass may assist you wonderfully.

This next stained glass how to pic shows marking the glass for breaking.

Mark the glass to break

Here Randy is scoring the glass in order to break it nicely.

Our next photo is a nice shot of Randy breaking the glass after scoring that will be prepped to adjust to the pattern.

Cut stained glass

Next, Randy uses wraps the glass in foil and presses down firmly.

Then, take the fid and smooth the edges for a 'clean look.'

Here is a pic of brushing on the flux before the almighty solder.

Now we solder!

Next, Randy is using the brush to flux before doing some fancy soldering. Isn't he good folks?

Ok, soldering is finished, so we utilize the black patina.

For a finishing touch, we get a nice wood frame to hold the glass art and add that beautiful touch.

Stained glass frame finish

Randy decides to add a beautiful black coat of paint to finish the wood frame. Allows the glass piece to stand out.

Painting the frame adds a nice finish

And, voila, we are done!!!!
