I'd just like to say, as a stained glass creator for about 30 years, that in the end you might be glad of the black patina n there.

I barely use copper any more, except to match what is there already.. When i make a foiled item, I use black patina as the finish.. I think it allows the glass to be the star of the project.
Then I wax it with a spray car wax, and very quickly buff it... good protection.

Brillant colors

Your butterfly has some brillant colors in it and is fantastic! Dare I say, I would never show my first piece, it's that bad. You've done a wonderful job and it's refreshing to see what we can create. Don't let the fact of not having the right patina or copper foil (which is my problem now)get you down. Keep up the beautiful work!
