Making a Stained Glass Table

by Linda
(Galt, CA)

Q: I need a light under the plexiglass, so that the pattern - it can be cut free hand so the pattern would be under the glass and the light would be under the pattern.

This way you can see the pattern, but the glass would be touch?

A: It sounds like you want some type of light box- but your question is a little confusing - This is our interpretation of your question.

We recommend that you make a light box but it would be best if you could purchase one so that you get all of the safety requirements needed
Items for safety would be a fan for ventilation, fluorescent bulbs with on off switch - set up by an electrician.

Since there are a variety of colors that you will need to cut. We recommend tracing the pattern on the glass with a permanent maker.

Then cutting and breaking - but doing the cutting off of the light box. We don't recommend cutting the glass on the light box - plexiglass.

The use of the light box is to help in tracing the dark glass from the pattern.
