How to Paint Stained Glass on Door

by Kaye

Q: I am curious as how to paint the stained glass window on a door?

Our A: I don't know how many pieces of glass you have but we can recommend several things.

1. There is paint that you can apply to glass. You might check with your hobby store or hardware store for ideas. Here is a great article from one of our favorite stores, Michael's on painting glass

2. You could etch the glass but this will not apply any color. We have not done either of these processes, but certainly doable.

3. You could make stained glass for each window in your front door and attach with glazing point (like the back of a frame) Install on the inside of the glass. Then you could put putty around the window to help secure the glass. This will offer you color and a design. Measure your window and make a design for that space.

4. You could also purchase colors of glass and install like you would a stained glass piece. Cut the glass the size of the window.

Just a few tips for what you want to do. Any other ideas, please leave a comment below.
