Nancy Used Lead Came to Hang Her Stained Glass Piece

Q: I am finishing up a 20" diameter-round, Tiffany-style piece. What is the best way to hang this? Is it too big to solder hangers too without a trim piece? If so, how do I bend the trim? Thanks for any info.

A: You have 2 options:

1. You can solder the hangers in 2 areas and hang with a chain. 20" diameter is a good size but if you solder 2 little hooks sturdy- it will hold.

2. You could use lead came to finish off your piece.

Check out our lead came section. We offer instructions on producing lead came stained glass. This section provides information on how to curve the lead came. Once the lead came is attached then you can use your wire hooks to hang your art.

I have a piece that is about 15" and it hangs well with the hooks.

The hooks are spread about 10-11 on a clock and 1-2 on a clock.

Nancy's response: Thank you very much for the advice. I went ahead and put lead around it.
