We thought it important learn about us & who's we are behind createstainedglass.com.
Over time we hope to meet many of you, our visitors, to discover not only
why you love stained glass but who you are as well.
We have a lot of big plans for this site. We want it to become a large, but tight-knit community of artists who love the creation of stained glass.
The picture of the bird is our mascot. We thought it fun to provide an animal of beautiful color, but to show you that this art is a lot of fun. We also enjoy the pleasures of life and the adventures life brings along. If you have a name recommendation for him, we'd love to hear.
Randy is a man that enjoys working with his hands.
He has been in the construction business for many years.
He enjoys building things and fixing things as well as many other
hobbies.
He has been interested in stained glass for many years. After raising
his children, he decided to do something that would be fun and challenging
all at the same time.
He started by getting books out of the library to find out the process
of
producing stained glass.
He then found a stained glass store in
Covington,
Kentucky. He spoke with the owner for several hours discussing all the tools
and
techniques and selling features.
This made him even more excited about the process, so he bought all the tools he needed to
begin this hobby. He started with inexpensive glass so he could give it
a
whirl and see what he could do.
The first piece he made was about the size of 8x10- just squares and
triangles. He was so proud of that first piece. He felt he really
accomplished something, and now that he looks back on that piece, he
realizes
how far he has come with his technique.
He loves seeing the light shine
thru each piece. He loves selling his work and giving pieces away as
gifts.
Randy also likes to use different frames to make each piece stand out. With his
construction background he has been creative with wood frames and the
hook
chains for hanging various stained glass pieces.
Randy is married and has 4 children, 3 grandchilden and 1 on the way.
Having his family grown is another form of accomplishment that he is
very
proud of.
He and his wife enjoy trips to the beach, spending time with the family
and
working together on projects.
He and Kim put together stepping stones with his scrap pieces of
glass (this is a great project to do by the way).
Randy looks forward to seeing how new stained glass enthusiasts are
doing
with their projects and wants to teach as well as learn from others as
he ventures into future stained glass designs.
Joe is a different breed. He is the one behind designing this site and has
many plans to bring this beauty to life so it becomes one of the most visited
and best resources on the web.
Seeing talent in others, he decided to team up with Randy to not only learn
stained glass creation, but to share it with others.
Noticing a need in the market for others to learn, share, and discuss all things
stained glass, he brainstormed create stained glass.
Owning two other websites:
Florida travel site &
Real Estate site, and building a few others, he prides himself on his
own creativity.
An Accountant by trade, but entrepreneur at heart he wants to live the American Dream
by helping others find their true passions and enjoying them to the fullest.
Joe has a son, a beautiful wife, and a full life ahead of him to reach out to
other people and share experiences of common interest.
He loves to travel, spend time with family, build websites, read, learn, and more!
